Solstice Insider

Distance to Destinations from Solstice

One of the most important questions when deciding where to build your new home is how far it is from important destinations. For Solstice, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that it is located in a very desirable location for the outdoors. Chatfield state park's entrance is connected to the neighborhood, making it just seconds away. The neighborhood is also nearly as close to the foothills as it gets, giving great mountain views. The downside is the area is not very developed yet, and you are in for a 10-15 minute drive at minimum to get nearly anywhere. With the continued development of Sterling Ranch (on the other side of Titan road), retail should be built at some point, but the plans for that have been quiet.

Chatfield and Roxborough State Parks

As mentioned, Chatfield State Park is practically in your backyard. This park offers breathtaking mountain views and recreational activities like hiking, birdwatching, water sports, and camping. If you have paid for the state park pass on your vehicle registration, you can get in via car for free. You can also bike or walk in easily, without needing any passes.

We also have Roxborough state park just a 10 minute drive south. Roxborough is smaller but is a nice place to take guests hiking when they visit. It has a great view of natural red rock formations and some easy hiking trails.

Highlands Ranch Town Center

The Highlands Ranch Town Center is around 15 minutes away from Solstice and contains a lot of restaurants and retail stores that you may frequent. You will probably find yourself going here a lot as it contains our nearest:

  • Home Depot
  • King Soopers (Grocery store)
  • Fast food (Chick-fil-a, Raising Caines, Shake Shack, Torchys, Chipotle, etc)
  • UPS & Fedex stores

With the development of Sterling Ranch we will hopefully see some food and retail options nearby, but for now Highlands Ranch will be the shortest drive for these options.

Downtown Denver

For those who work downtown or just love the city's hustle and bustle, Solstice's time to Downtown Denver is about 45 minutes. With rush hour traffic, this can be upwards of an hour however. As an alternative, there is a light rail station at Mineral and Santa Fe, which allows you to drive about 15 minutes, park, and take the light rail to downtown.

Denver Tech Center

Located around 30 minutes from Solstice, the Denver Tech Center (DTC) is a hub for business professionals. With a dense concentration of corporations and tech companies, this might be a more manageable option if you are looking for a new job than downtown.

Ski Resorts

Colorado's renowned ski country is within reach, with most mountain resorts an hour and a half from Solstice. This is the same amount of time you'd expect living in most suburbs of Denver.

  • Eldora: 1h 20m
  • Winter Park: 1h 30m
  • Copper Mountain: 1h 30m
  • Breckenridge: 1h 45m
  • Vail: 1h 50m

Park Meadows Mall

Just 20 to 25 minutes away is Colorado's largest indoor mall, Park Meadows. It is massive and has all of your typical mall stores and dining options. Our local Costco, IKEA, and REI are also located nearby.

Other Important Destinations

  • Aspen Grove Mall: A closer option than Park Meadows, Aspen Grove is a smaller outdoor mall but is only 15 minutes away.
  • Red Rocks Amphitheatre: About 25 minutes from Solstice, this world-famous concert venue is also a magnificent place for hiking and taking in the vistas.
  • Denver International Airport (DIA): At approximately 50 minutes, the journey to the airport is a bit long, but is an easy drive on 470 nearly the entire way there.
